The base cost

Notarizing a single affidavit with one deponent online is $49.99 CAD. That covers the whole appointment: identity verification, administering the oath or affirmation, witnessing your signature, completing the jurat, applying the notary's signature and seal, and emailing the finished document back to you the same day.

It also covers the part people do not think to price — the eligibility check. Before you pay anything, we confirm your affidavit can be sworn remotely for your province and intended use. That review is free, and it is the difference between a document that gets accepted and one that gets sent back.

What pushes the total up

Only two things change the price, and both are charged at $26 CAD each:

  • Additional pages beyond the base document.
  • Exhibits that must each be marked and initialled by the notary.

Exhibits are the usual reason a total exceeds the base fee. If your affidavit references a contract, bank statements, and a screenshot, that is three exhibits to mark, and each is handled and charged individually.

A three-page affidavit with four exhibits comes to $49.99 for the base, $52 for the two additional pages, and $104 for the four exhibits — $205.99 in total, all handled in one session.

How this compares to an in-person visit

Comparing headline fees alone understates the difference. A traditional office visit adds costs that never appear on the invoice: travel and parking, time away from work, and often a second trip when a document turns out to need a correction or an exhibit was missed. For anyone outside a major city, the travel time alone can exceed the notarial fee.

A remote appointment removes all of that. There is no travel, appointments run 7am to 11pm seven days a week rather than business hours only, and most sessions finish in 10 to 15 minutes. If a problem with the document surfaces during the call, it is usually fixed on the spot rather than requiring a return visit.

  • Consolidate exhibits where legitimate. If several pages form one coherent document, they may be a single exhibit — ask during the eligibility check.
