Why we built an online notary service
Notarization is one of those small legal steps that quietly derails a person's whole day. You need a single signature witnessed, and suddenly you are searching for an office, checking whether they are open, driving across town, and waiting for your turn — often to spend two minutes with a notary and pay for the privilege of the trip. We thought that experience was overdue for a rethink. The witnessing itself is quick; everything around it is the problem.
Remote online notarization solves the logistics without loosening the safeguards. By moving the appointment to secure live video, we keep the parts that make notarization trustworthy — identity verification, a signature witnessed in real time, and a proper record of the act — while removing the travel and the wait. In many ways a recorded video session creates a clearer, more verifiable record than a hurried in-person visit ever did.
